Tatapani

Tatapani stands as a prominent destination within the district, renowned for its hot springs. It is a site that attracts tourists and devotees throughout the year who come to offer prayers and worship; furthermore, a fair is held here annually on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. A popular belief associated with the water from these hot springs is that anyone who bathes in it will never suffer from skin ailments. Tatapani draws visitors year-round—not only from Chhattisgarh but also from the neighboring states of Jharkhand and Odisha—who utilize these very hot waters to cook rice, offer it as *Bhog* (sacred food offering), and perform worship rituals for the Lord of Lords, Bhagwan Mahadev.
